Radix PE tunning
#1
I'm running a Westers tune and Lyndon told me that I wont see PE(Power Enrichment) until 70% TPS, not sure what he has the map kpa set for. I tow a 5k trailer and I sometimes go into boost and don't see PE(AFR remains at 14.4) and I'm worried about blowing my motor. I was told by Joe at left coast that I should see PE at 20~25% TPS and/or 85kpa across the maf. This seems a lot better to me and I am about to request this change. My AFR under PE boost is 11.0 and I run 93 octane with 17* advance.
Any other opinions/suggestions for dialing in this tune?

With the availability of boost at very low throttle conditions and loads you are right to be concerned. I agree 20-25% throttle and I personally have 85kpa set for PE. 11.0 is also a tad rich to me. 17* is safe and not a bad idea pulling loads. I keep my timing conservative and adjust more or less aggressive based upon IAT.

Lyndon holds PE off until 70% on radix tunes? What does he mean? At what rpm? The whole rpm range? I am assuming we are talking about a regular 1 bar tune. And you mean MAP not MAF right?
Where are your RPM concerns for towing? I have become a little more aggressive over the years with TPS enable, so I'd push the 25% more. I never go under 30%...I think. LOL I use 80kpa as the enable and I have even brought back the RPM delay. I hate going into PE too damn quick when I have no intention of staying in it longer than a second or so (big fuel waster IMO).
17* sounds great but where are we talking here? If you are towing and are low RPM high load you should be in a lower timing spot.
Maybe he means 70% at low rpm, but you have like 30% in the higher rpm. Believe it or not, 70% comes awefully fast at low rpm high load.

I was seeing 2 lbs. of boost and no PE while towing at times. I didn't get any knocking but was uneasy about towing a 5k trailer under boost with no PE. My tune is for 93 octane and this is what I use. Correction made for map kpa(not maf kpa). Thanks dewmanshu. Spoke to calibration tech at Magnuson today and they recommended lowering my TPS PE to 20~25% too. Suggested that Lyndon probably set TPS at 70% to optimize fuel economy.
I will order a re-tune now for a 160* t-stat change and readjustment of E-fan settings and lower the TPS PE to come in at 25% as recommended.

When goin into boost fuel needs to be there, you can adjust the AFR in those areas also as 2lbs is not much and running a 12.0:1 AFR at that amount of boost is not really needed, but 14.7 is not enough fuel
