Default radix and IAT correction table

How much timing and where (cylinder airmass vs temp) R you radix guys telling IAT Correction Table to adjust? Just curious...where is your threshold...if any.

I usually take it down a lot from what it is. I wanna say mine started pulling timing up around 160. It started at -1 and moved up -1* every second row.

In this months GMHTP, I installed a duel channel Autometer IAT gage on a Radix. I can tell you from this testing I have done so far the Radix's IAT will see a substantially different temperature on the dyno after it heat soaks than the actual air temp going into the runners.
This seems obvious to some, but It opened my eyes.

for some odd reason I thought I was posting in tuning. My bad.

Yeh I like the 160 setting. Seems if you run a quick run it doesn't go past 160, but a long highway WOT run will surely put it up there. I am trying to find my "threshold" for my advance table and with these other correction tables being so damn high, it gets on my nerves quick on a 98* day. The need to pull timing is obvious but, mine was pulling like 5* at 160 and started pulling at 140.

It does seem obvious, buuuuuttt...I would imagine it would be one hell of a difference. That's on a dyno, in building with a large fan. Imagine Friday night shootout with 5 or so runs..on a lovely 99* Texas afternoon. What are you looking to accomplish or learn from test?

Now that I think about it, it may have been 180 where I started pulling timing.

I wanted to see how much the intercooler dropped air temperature under different conditions and have a way of measuring the result of changes to the system.
One pyrometer was installed in the air stream exiting the supercharger and the other deep in the airflow path of the Radix intake runner heading into the cylinder head.
Once next months issue hits the newstands I will talk about the results, but I can say it was a learning experience.

Thanks Moregrip,
It is a two part article, the results are in the next issue. I ran out of space to cover everything I wanted to this month.

The big thing is that heat soak will cause the Radix's IAT to report a different air temp than is actually going into the cylinder heads. If you look at the pictures in the article, you can see the pyrometer is pointing deep into the intake runner.
