something like that. i try to tune for a base temp. to go off of. from there i try to get the intake temps in all the ranges and see where i can add or subract. there's no point in locking in one number if i can add a bit when it's cool air. in the other case, why run a low base timing if i'm only going to see a problem when the IAT's are high. i use both the coolant temp and the IAT. to make this work properly though you have to get the base timing set where you want it first under the same conditions every time. once you do that adjust for other conditions in the IAT and ECT tables. here's an example from a truck i have almost a hundred reflashes in.
