I'm putting a 4.8L in my truck while I rebuild my 408. Since 4.8L engines weren't backed by 4l80e's and a stock 4.8L tune from the respiratory won't handle the 4L80e, can I take my 408 (6.0L/4L80e) tune and change the engine type to 4.8L? Then I can copy the VE, spark, injector tables and such to the 6.0L tune? I'm just not sure if I have to change computers and everything.

 

I think if you just change the cylinder volume it should be fine.

If you have EFI live, of course, just do a segment swap.

 

Yea no need to do a segment swap if I can just change the engine type and cylinder volume in my 6.0L/4L80e tune. Anyone have experience doing this?

 

Just change displacement and tune as necessary. Very simple.

 

Cool, thanks guys! Just swithced over all the injector data, VE, MAF, ect for a 4.8L. Easy enough

 

One more quick question. I am going to have to add an NNBS intake manifold to the 4.8L so I can use my 90mm tb and because my harness has EV6 injector plug connectors. Are the NBS and NNBS 4.8L/5.3L injectors the same, just a different plug or are they different injectors all together? Just wondering so I can add the correct injector data.
