Possible electrical problem?
So I went out for a little cruise after work today, was out for maybe 45min or so. On the way home I noticed, just before I turned onto my road, that the security and battery light flashed for just a second. This was just 5min after giving the truck a good 0-80ish romp after some kid cut me off and kept looking back at me .
Any idea what could be causing this? Ive noticed this happen maybe a time or two before. And also a couple times before the security light will randomly start flashing until I turn the truck off.
HELP!

Sometimes my gauges go alittle weird and the low fuel light, security light and battery light will come on for a second then go back off along with the gas gauge going all the way to E then back to normal. I have yet to figure it out but thinking it's a ground issue somewhere. Hope someone else chimes in to help you out man.

Was happening on old battery, that one died. Put new ACDelco battery in and has happened twice with the new battery. Terminals were nice and snug when it was put in, but Ill check them again tomorrow when I get home from work.
I used my aeroforce gauges to check DTCs but nothing was stored. However, previously when the security light came and stayed on. It had some universal code for lost communication or something like that, but I dont remember the exact fault.

Your alternator is probably crapping out at high RPM or heat buildup. Use a digital multimeter to read out voltage while running. If it's less than 13v, you have a problem.

It shouldnt be... I put a new 130amp unit on with my efans as of late January. Volt meter in the dash never shows below 14 from what I can tell. But I can moniter that better with my Aeroforce gauges.
And this was happening before either of those mods were done as well.

Could be wiring related. That loss of communication could be telling you something.
It could be several things. The battery and alternator are usually the common faults. It is less likey since you replaced those. It could be the electrical portion of the ignition switch, possibly a bad ground, a loose wire, even a bad module.
You will need to monitor the voltage as mentioned. And if you get a code it could be helpful.
