PO342 cam signal code that will not go away no matter what
#1
Anyone ever get a PO342 (cam signal low) code that won't go away no matter what?? It's on an 04 Chevy 3500 with an LQ4.
So far we have:
1. Changed the cam sensor
2.Ohmed the wires from PCM to CMP
3.swapped in another PCM
4. Changed plug for cam sensor
5.put a bore scope down cam sensor hole to check the cam reluctor
6. Put ANOTHER cam sensor in.
7. Tested the wiring and watch the signal counter on the scan tool to verify everything is working after the sensor.
We are at a loss with this truck and it runs great it just doesn't start for **** when it's warm. It'll have a little backfire when you try to start it like its out of time. Any help is appreciated!

Have you tried a new cam sensor connector. I had one kick my *** a few years ago only to find a bad connector. The pins lost tension where it mates to the CPS terminals inside the cam sensor. When it was connected to sensor it had a poor connection then and only then. You could ohm it all day change pcms it all checked good.
Is the truck all stock and did it just start doing one day out of the blue.
