Default PCM read trans and engine oil temp?

If the PCM reads transmission temperature, where is the sensor located?

Does the PCM also read engine oil temperature?

If I remember correctly from rebuilding my last 4L, its in the pan, just onder the filter. Dont quote me, that was almost 6 months ago. I think its basically a resistor thats chilling in the fluid.

The temp sensor for the tranny is on the valve body, i think. As far as i know only corvettes came with oil temp sensors.

Then with the temperature sensor in the pan at the valve body, the fluid leaving the converter could be at a significantly higher temperature.

Has anyone ever checked the temperature at the inlet to the cooler?

Don't the Denali's have a temp sensor on the dash...lower left if I remember correctly. I am told the Yukon came with the wiring but not the guage..never looked to confirm it.
