Default P1638 Generator F Terminal Circuit...

This is my code...what the heck could this be cause by?? I did switch to a new Alt. 200amp actually. But I hooked it up exactly how the original was and now I get this code. The reason I switch is because I went with a ASP underdrive pulley and I need more amperage!!!

Switching to that Alt is what its caused by, just go in and delete the code, wont hurt a thing!

Your stock alternator is a 3-wire. 1 for battery hookup (charging post), one to turn the alt on (L terminal), and one for the PCM to sense alt output/load (F terminal). Your new alt is probably a 2-wire, just the output post and the L terminal. The PCM is not seeing a signal on the F terminal circuit like it wants, so it is freaking out. Like chrisj6 said, just disable the code in the tune and you'll be fine.
