Default OBDII Port dead?

Well long story short, I installed a new trans and converter, fired right up and all seems well. I took it on a 5 mile jog just to get it all up to operating temp and feel for any issues. She is running strong.

As I drove I noticed that my Scan Gauge wasn't working. I got home and checked to see if it was plugged in,...yep it was. Broke out the laptop to do some logging and I cannot ping the PCM. HPT gives me "a cable recognized but no power, check to see if ignition is in the run position" message and will not connect. (Yes, the ignition was in the run position)

O.K. All you gurus, what fuse did I blow, what ground did I disrupt? I did have the battery disconnected for about a month, think that had an impact? Any guesses will be appreciated! FWIW, just before the tranny swap, I was able to fully scan the PCM and clear codes. Based on that my Scan gauge AND laptop will not work in the port tells me the issue is in the port.
