Default obd2 port

hey guys wondering how hard it would be to wire in an obd2 port to a wiring harness. got a 2000 5.3 for my dads 69 c-10 and it has the wiring harness but no diagnostics port. i can get the port itself from currentperformance.com for $20, just wondering if someone maybe had a wiring diagram or has done this before. Also wondering what else has to be done to make this a stand alone harness. thanks guys.

It's really easy to wire the OBDII port and to make a standalone harness out of them. Basically there is 1 data wire the comes from the PCM to the port and a power and 2 grounds and that's it. There is a sticky in the hybrid/conversation forum over on LS1Tech that list all the pin outs and I think how to make it a stand alone. I did it with a 04 5.3/4l60 I turboed and put in my dads 72 4x4.
