What issues did you have Marc? Is there a thread out there I'm missing?

Oh, HPT software was fubared and they had to fix it and email me the updated version. I was either the first to use a 3 bar on a truck or just the 05 trucks I suppose.

Not to hijack, but since were on the subject of 3 bars and vacuum sources, I'm a little concerned. I'm going to be putting my 3 bar in within the week, and the 1 vacuum source for the factory manifold has my WG, BOV, and boost gauge referenced off of it. I was thinking about putting the MAP in the port behind the throttle body, but I'm not sure if there will be too much of a pressure drop there. My other option was to use the port by the fuel pressure regulator. What do you guys think?

I'm not 100% sure about this, which is why I didn't post it earlier. My physics guru is out of town...

I believe vacuum changes occur on the pico-femtosecond scale. The PCM is on the nanoscale.

Translation: the vacuum change propigates several orders of magnitude faster than the PCM can recognize anyway. As long as you use vacuum lines and not pvc pipe () I believe you'll be fine.

I ran my megasquirt, boost gage, hobbs switch for the fuel pump, meth kit and fpr off the same port with no appreciable loss of performance. I also run a long line from my manifold to my wastegate under the bed. I did this after talking to my physicist friend before the install (His exact words were: "Vacuum is vacuum. Hook them all together").

Marc's post above makes logical cents (pun intended) however, and I'd like to hear my friend explain it away.

I have nothing to prove with any experience that you would have problems with extremely large or small volume of lines. Just offering my .02

And my name is spelled m-a-r-K

Just don't tell "the man"

hehe I hate it when people replace the 'k' in my name with a 'c' so I always try to get the spelling right -- sorry about that

Well it looks like you're not the only one MarC

I just went to do a 3bar OS on my truck and nothing happened. I have 3 bar enhanced applied and my VE table goes up to a whopping 105kPa. This sucks! I just used 2 credits for nothing. I guess I'll email them my tune.

Yep, same deal with mine. I had to uninstall HPT and reinstall the update they sent me. They were right on top of it. Took a day or two though.
