Default Nbs gauge cluster question

I just picked up an 05 silverado and the gear indicator does not light up, some times I can see it at night but very faintly. I looked online and saw a video of some resistors breaking off but I didn't have any loose resistors floating in the cluster.

Any help would be very helpful

Thank you
-Daniel

Assuming that your dimmer switch is working correctly and that every thing else lights up correctly you may need to have the cluster repaired. Even if the resistor is not physically broken it could be bad. It is also possible the display is going out. A speedo repair shop would no better what to look for and how to fix it.

Unfortunately all the ones I have spoke to were not very forth coming with specific information.
