Default My new HPP3 thread, need help.

Ok, as I've said before, I got this only to hold me over until warranty is out, so don't flame...plus I picked up this piece of **** for cheap.....

Anyway, I cured the horrible pinging issue I was having by switching to the 93 tune and 93 octane from the 87 tune / 87 octane. New problem has surfaced....the turd WILL NOT shift out of first gear at WOT. Other gears are ok (I.E. 40 mph roll). From a dig, it gets close to redline, and then just holds there, and quits pulling. It's pissing me the hell off.

I haven't called the Hypertech bastards yet because I bought the thing used, and I was afraid they might not warranty it, or make me pay some gay fee for a software upgrade or something.

Try removing the tune and returning truck to stock. Reinstall 93 octane tune.

As for what is causing the problem I'm not sure, maybe somebody else has a little better insight. But I have some questions.

When it goes 'close' to redline does it hit fuel shutoff like the limiter has been reached? Meaning if you are WOT and at 5999, stock shutoff is 6000, the truck will max and fuel shuts on/off rapidly. OR does it start to lose power before fuel shutoff? How 'bout WOT from 20 mph, should buy a 2-1 downshift?

Sounds like the tune put some bad data in the pcm for WOT 1-2 shift. I am not a tuner, somebody correct me.

When I Had The Hypertech, It Did The Same Thing. I Put The Stock Program Back In, Made Sure All The Lights And Radio Was Off, And Reloaded The Tune. Never Had A Problem After That. Just Make Sure You Have All The Accessories And Lights Off, Or It Will Not Have The Correct Voltage, Thats What The People Over At Hypertech Told Me......

yep gotta have everything off. with hpt it will shut alot of stuff off and it won't come back on till the load is done. and make sure your wot shift point is not above your rev limmiter or else it will not shift. and on the 04's the throttle plate will close and hold rpm instaed of cutting fuel. so if it has a hold rpm feel to it this maybe the problem but try a reload first.
