Default My first post here. need electrical help.

So I've been waiting to put a post on here until after i've gotten a little more done to my truck but unfortunately During my most recent project i've ran into an unexpected issue. I started to run the wires for my amp/sub. I ran all the wires but did not hook actually hook anything to the head unit itself yet. I started connecting the power wire to the little auxillary batter post in the engine compartment and I arched out the wrench on the master cylinder (didn't unhook the battery woops). Well after everything wire were ran and the wires hidden (still nothing to the head unit yet) I found that i had to charge my battery to start it. Well the next morning I start driving to work and realize my head unit wont turn on. I checked the fuse for the radio under the hood and found it was blown so i swapped in a new one. Radio turned back on YAY!!!! but then i realized the radio would not turn off when i open the door and my door chimes weren't working. So I assumed my metra door chime interface was shot. I ordered a new one got here today and slapped it in. Still same thing no chimes no head unit power down. Everything works fine except those. Lights turn on and off with door and all that. My buddy is coming up tomorrow with his factory head unit and i'm gonna try it out and see what i get. So bassically i'm asking if anybody that has a little more wiring knowledge than me have any ideas? I've had the aftermarket head unit and the metra interface hooked up and working properly for over a year. I called metra before i ordered a new one and tried their "reprogramming" process which i knew wouldn't work so they are pretty useless to me at this point. And yes I searched and all that so dont even go there.

Since this is my first post i'll fill you guys in on my rig. 06 silverado 4wd 4 door 5.3l Silver with rhino lined fender flares and lower half of body line. CAI, Exhaust and programmer. Currently working on 100 shot nitrous with zex controller box window switch and purge also a center console fiberglassed with sub, switch panel cup holders, and hidden gun safe. Starting to piece together some stainless pipe and saving up for headers for an all ss 3" exhaust cat delete and x pipe with cut outs. Then on to the turbo........

If its the same wiring as 2000 which im sure its close check fuses on inside dash fuses nest to drivers door sounds like one there is blown, had similar problem like that years ago was blown fuse in that small panel check them all just incase if that doesn't work check make sure you have all connectors hooked up in drivers door noticed on mine that if door switches are unhooked that the radio will not shut off when shut key off and dome light will nott work with door open as well visa versa cant quite remember that woyuld be a very long shot on the door switches but just a idea. Just make sure to double everything just incase. Hope that helps ya

So its still same problem pull the radio first try to see if weverthing works. Next check wireing harness for stereo in this case did you buy the adaptor plug so no cuting or spicing from factory harness to stereo. If not then check to see if the red wire is wired together with yellow or visa versa it may be you have a constant hot to your ignition as well

all the wiring on the head unit is correct. I'm trying to reset my bcm right now... if that doesn't work i'm pluggin up a factory head unit to see if it works thats the only test i have left that i know to do. I cant imagine that the interface i had wired in and working for over a year took a dump and then the one i just bought to replace it was bad from the factory... but who the f knows.

Yeah I've checked and rechecked all the wiring and fuses and everything i can think of multiple times even though the problem began without me touching or changing the wiring accept for adding a power wire but the amp was never hooked to anything on the truck.
