Your idle timing will vary with rpm and cyl airmass.
From what I've seen, he leaves the idle spark tables alone.

I haven't seen any tunes that command negative timing at idle.

It sounds like you've got help with a new tune already.

FYI near stock idle rpm, several trucks I've seen run at about 25-28 degrees timing.

Have fun at the show.

I think thats fine if it idles well for you. I run 24* at idle up to 1000rpm so, yours is not too high.

Too much timming at idle it will start to miss. Not enough timming at idle it wil run rough. 18 to 28 seams to be the range that most trucks like.....

Have fun at the show.

well, I got the truck to quit misfiring... it was definitely WAY too much timing at idle (27*) so we backed it doen to 20 and it smoothed right out.

-the numbers I posted before were incorrect, I had them confused with something else he told me LOL.... but anyway, it sounds pretty nice idling where it is at 550rpm but it needs to be higher for sure, I told him 700-725 ought to do the trick... every red light is a challenge with this cam LOL.

The only thing now is the midrange power it seems to have lost... its pulling really well up top and shifting at 6800 RPM (taking the converter flare into account) the shift it set at 6600. rev limiter is at 7K and it seems to really like it up there... even with the truck manifold on it.

just an update, I'm sure there will be more
