I've changed out the engine, PCM, and wiring harness out of an 02 truck and put it in my 93, everything works fine.....

When I turn off the truck, the message center keeps flashing the yellow security light, and will kill my battery. The only way I can get it to stop is to unplug the instrument cluster wiring from the top of the instrument cluster, plug it back up, and it works.

As far as the message center, I really don't care about it, if I can just either get the security light to stop OR turn the message center off all together, that'll be fine to, as long as I still have all my gauges working.

I have tunercats, and I've taken the VAT's off, so it's not like it is going to leave me stranded from the VAT's issues.

You could disconnect the small ribbon cable form the Message Center itself and see if that resolves your battery drain issues. It will save you from disconnecting the main harness from the cluster.

Not sure what tunercats is but in hptuners you turn off the code for the f- generator terminal.
also you can try doin a security relearn on it....

 

TunerCat is his programming; just like most of us use HPTuners or EFIlive. Another brand.
