Default LS1 edit software???

i have the LS1 edit dyno tune on my truck right now and i just bought a laptop so i was wondering if anyone could tell me where i could fine the LS1 edit software and component to connect truck to computer.... i know alot of people like EFI live but i just dont want to spend another 600 bucks on tuning package especially since i dont even know how, i just want to learn....if the LS1 edit stuff is just as much then im just gonna say forget about it and let MTI do all my dyno tuning for me since the guy they have there is very good at it. thanks for anyone's input on this

You can get the software and cable from "carputing.com".

This will cost about the same as HP Tuners or EFI Live, around $500.00.

There are no freebies when it comes to tuning.

so would you guys recommend getting the LS1 edit software and cable because i already have that tune programmed in and i could edit from where its at now? i probably wont do this for a while due to tight funds and wanting a new cam and MTI will edit for cheap

As long as the tuner didn't lock the PCM you can use any tuning software you'd like...if the PCM has been locked by the tuner only HPTuners will read and write it (has something to do with the way EFI Live and LS1Edit read/write the pcm)

What MTI did was tune it with LS1edit,that is not what tune is in there, that is what it was tuned with. You can use HPTuners, tunercat and EFIlive to tune it as long as it is not locked and I do not think MTI locks them.If you want I can tell you if it is locked or not if you come see me!I live in Katy also.Let me know
