Default low MAF reading

Hello,

I am trying to log some data (EFILive) to send to Blackbear with my recently completed MP70 5.3. The truck seems to run good but is running lean in boost on the baseline tune. I've only taken it to a few psi because of the lean condition. The MAF read a max of 30lb/min. I took it out, cleaned it with an oil-less electrical cleaner, went for another spin, and still only 30lb/min max. It's an '01 screen type MAF from a 4.8, and is mounted directly to the throttle body. There is an elbow/reducer right before the MAF as well. Is there a way to test the maf to see if it's good? Do you think placement is an issue? Would the low readings be causing the lean condition? Thanks.

What rpm and boost is it reading 30lb/min? Also are you logging MAF HZ? If not you should be. How lean is it?

It's pretty much 13.5-15 throughouth the rpm range, in or out of boost. The most I took it to was maybe 5psi at 5000rpm. I don't like driving it like this because I know I'm flirting with disaster. I tried selecting MAF raw frequency in the PIDS, but I get a warning that says "PID GM.MAFFREQ2 is not a valid PID, select in anyway?"

I should also mention that this baseline tune was originally meant for a 4.8 but I swapped to a 5.3, I asked Justin if the baseline tune would still be good to log data with and he said yes.

Well it's too lean first off, so I would stay out of boost. You have to log MAF HZ on the primary table before you can setup a PID.

I don't know how to do this, is it a simple process? I'm totally green to tuning/EFILive. Thanks for the help.

I am not able to access a computer with HPT till I am home. I can't remember the exact steps, done it so many times I can't remember what I click. Go to primary table, right click empty box then I forget the options to get to MAF HZ.

Switch that pid from lbs/min to grams/sec. I always use grams/sec if you post that might have some insight

225g/sec, both before and after cleaning the MAF
