Anyone ever seen this? My ASUS G75VW was logging data Sunday and then there was a faint pop and it went dead. I mean turned off immediately....not went to sleep. Brought it home and plugged it into the charger and powered back up. It seemed to be ok and did everything as normal. This evening it did the same thing. Logging for a shorter time though. Outside of HPT scanner it seems to be fine while plugged into the charger. Have not tried to do anything other than log scanner data with it unplugged.

Never had an issue out of this machine before....

Maybe it's the laptop itself or a lose battery to battery contacts issue.
Have you tried driving around with the HPT interface not connected and see if it shuts down?

Have not put it in the truck but not connected. It did not do it in the house however...I am thinking it is something with the laptop battery as well but I son't know how to make sure.

At your home, if you unplug it, does it suddenly die also? Check the USB ports if something was connected, I had a machine with a short in the USB port that shorted it out, it was finicky.

Just confirmed it is a crap battery. Watching a video unplugged from the charger and it died. So going to order a battery.
