He's very busy. They were on vacation or something the week before and had something like 250+ emails to catch up on. I just ordered my v2 from him last week and that was the explanation I got. Send them an email and wait for a reply

Do you know how the free tune is made like do you tell them what you have and you get a base Tune or what?

What i would do is when you get your efi live id make a log of your truck and then email the log file to him for adjustments. Thats the only way i could see it being done

You will tell him all your mods, and he will send a base tune. You install the base tune, and send him a log. He reads the log and adjusts your base tune, and send it back as your modified tune. You install the modified tune, and run another log for him. And repeat the process over.

What did EFI Live cost through him? I bought a tune, and was using a friends EFI Live, and think I need to get my own.

EFI Live V2 was $799, including the email tune, when I bought it from him a few months ago. Haven't gotten around to getting the email tune yet (been fixing my truck....) but it still been a very worth investment in my truck.

I've been able to fix my speedo issues after the T-56 install and subsequent 4.30 gear install and also install my e-fans. It's so nice to be able to walk out and modify the tune on your own without having to rely on someone else's timetable. It is quite a learning experience as I'm finding out, but I'm hoping after seeing the changes Justin will make via the included email log/tune, I can really start learning about the tuning process and be even more independent from there on out.

iv had efi live on my computer for 2 years now iv been tuning duramaxs iv put a mess of them in the 12 sec range. diesels you cant really go wrong learning on as you throw fuel at it and adjust timing appropriatly and go from there. just the whole gas thing where everything has to be spot on is what worries me lol.

it was 799 i used to be able to get it for 750 when it was the black v2. back when it was duramax only. the new blue v2's have the capability to tune cummins as well. the old black v2's can tune cummins from 06-07 5.9's right now and will be able to do the 07+ 6.7s's but the blue v2 will be required to tune the 03-05's.

I wasn't sure how it worked either but I do remember seeing it included a free tune. I ordered mine a couple weeks ago and got it within 3 days. I don't see the free tune being of any real advantage to me because I know exactly what I want changed, what the truck wants and what I expect of it in return. I mean really by mail order you can only do so much. Throw in some generic and probably conservative spark tables, tweak the shift points a hair if any, get rid of some/all TM and abuse mode and turn the VATS off and stuff like that.
