Default Just gloating a bit

Had another round of tuning yesterday. We mainly worked in the trans and got the part throttle shifting/TCC Lockup fixed. It was locking WAY too early and shifting too soon as part throttle so we upped some of the values and it lined out. Iwas given some of the best advice ever last week when I was told "treat your converter lockup as 6th gear in an M6 car, use it when crusing, other than that let the converter work for you like it should." It made sense to me, so now after we changed some things it drives 10000% better.

I'm running conservative timing for the bottle (24* @ WOT) and am seeing 0* KR all over now Vs the 8-12* I was seeing before. No more misfire problems, no more rediculous KR. We're going to add maybe one more degree and see where it sits...

The fueling was ALL OVER THE PLACE when we first started. now the shor term and long term fuel trims are where they need to be. Next week we are going to put the wideband on it and see where the A/F is exactly, but its running great as is. IDC only says 93% @WOT past 6300 RPM's so all is well there also.

Its taken a couple sessions to get everything lined out but it has been well worth the work and time. Dyno tuning is good for WOT stuff but tuning the vehicle for how its driven cant be done except on the street

Thanks to Chauncey Washington aka 'onecamaro1' for doing my tuning and hopefully his business will be up and going here shortly in the SE Va area so all you guys around here can get tuned RIGHT! He'll take the time to make it how you want it. So long sub-par mail orders.... Sorry for the long post. I'm just excited to finally having my project running how it should be. Vids will be posted up soon.

kick *** tuning FTW!!!! I was just getting ready to post a "I am back in closed loop" thread.

When I finally got around messing with my shift points and converter lock up, it was an amazing difference in responsivness and loss of kr. Congrats!!!!!

I'll post up a log and a .bin here shortly so some of you guys with HPT can check it out. The trans temps are getting a little warmer than before but its ok... bigger coolers and fans are built every day

sounds good. you're right, when it comes to driveability tuning it takes time and driving around to get it dead on where you want it. There's a big difference in tuning WOT and part throttle... part throttle takes a bit more time and thought to get right.

I'm more than happy with the way it drives now for sure.

Sweet! I'd like to see your files. I'm trying to learn how to use this software and it seems like the more tune files that I see, the more I understand what's going on.

Tranny tuning ismore art than science. It takes a while to get right.

way to go ben!
you said it! tuning on the street is where it's at, not on the dyno.
i'm running 26* on the 100 with a/f @ 12.

Thank you,I wish more people would understand that. You can get the gains on the dyno and still have terrible drivability on the street, especially on a cammed setup
Street tuning on the wideband is the way to go IMO
