this is the first time I haven't gotten any KR at WOT.

Anyways, could someone please take a look at the log and help me figure out why I can't get the timing I am commanding in my high octane table (low octane table is identical). I'm logging GM.dynair or whatever and it isn't correlating to the timing table. E.g. I command 24 and it gives 26 or 25.5.

To answer your question the reason you can't get it to correlate is B5908.... This is my favorite table, but about 90% of your tuners don't use it, i dunno why.... But it adds to your final spark value based on RPM and COMMANDED AFR, the important thing his is COMMANDED, not actual... as you can probably see when your not in PE your spark matches exactly (also taking in consideration the spark IAT and spark ECT tables).

So back to B5908, you have to translate GM.EQIVRATIO to Commanded AFR or just log GM.EQIVRATIO. This table is awesome for dialing in your spark at WOT....

Here is a way to cross reference the values.

Speaking of logging, you need to keep your PIDs downt to 23 channels... Currently your logging 26 channels... go ahead and take off IBPW2 and INJDC2, since your already logging bank 1.... Also take off SAE.FUELSYS. This way you can get full resolution on your logs...

Enjoy....

Not that i am keeping track, but that is 2, still waiting on my prize...

Sweet! How the heck do you know all this Corey?

I went ahead and zero'd out B5908 so that I have perfect control over spark timing thru the high octane table.

Also, I think I found out I wasn't even running in SD. Apparently you have to go to the Engine DTC Processing enablers and set PO101-3 to C:Non-Emissions, otherwise the PCM still uses the MAF signal. Of course the AutoVE tutorial says to unplug the MAF, but we have the IAT in there.

Years of messing with my truck and I have about 2gig worth of tunes/logs on my laptop solely from my truck, lol....

Yes even thou you failed the maf the computer still uses the signal for other things, such as MAP/MAF difference tests, MAF rationality tests, etc... No need to unplug it or change the DTC processing enablers, leave them alone... Also i believe on the earlier operating systems unpluging the MAF will cause the trans to max out the shift pressures.... Basically what you can do is leave the MIL enablers stock, if you get a CheckEngineLight, then your good....

Zeroing out B5908 is ok for now, but when you get ready to do WOT spark adjustments send me a PM i will show the real easy way to log that is get your spark dialed in very quickly.... Like i said that is one of my favorite tables, it make WOT spark adjustments SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOo easy..

The pressures max out when the CEL pops up, hence why we set those MILs not to report.

I just want to make sure that I am in true SD mode.

NO.... The pressures max out supposedly when the MAF is physically disconnected.... Turning it off, just takes it out of the Fueling equation... Because gas motors determine the final AFR based on how much Air it is injesting, then bounces that number off your IFR table to determine how much fuel it needs to add... Just follow the instructions (besides the disconnecting the MAF, that applies to Fbody's) on the tutorial for setting the PCM in SD mode, no need to do more or less....

If you want to make sure your in SD, do like i said above dont set those P0101-3 to "No MIL", leave them stock, when you get the CEL you know your in SD mode...
