Innovative wifi interface
#1
I already ordered it but I thought I would see if any one has tried it to see how well it works. I was wanting a wide band anyway so now I will have that plus other monitoring tools thru my iPhone. Or that's how it says it will work, I guess we will see

Well it came in the mail today which I have to give props to innovative because they essentially got the order Tuesday since Monday was a holiday and it's here today which is a 3 day arrival on ground shipping
First impressions are good, super simple to setup. Just plug in the interface to the diagnostic port under the dash and select the Wifi connect on your iPhone. I haven't hooked the wideband to it yet( need to get the bung welded in the exhaust) but just the parameters readings are cool. It has two screens you can view for the parameter readings. First screen is a gauge setup where you can view three parameters simultaneously or a list view of which you can view 16 parameters simultaneously. It also has a fuel mileage screen which has a tree that goes green when your driving style is fuel efficient or all the green falls off when your more aggressive on the throttle. Pretty fun to toy with. Also has a dyno app which I will test the accuracy of tomorrow when I can put my truck on the scales and get an accurate weight. I will test it out thru the weekend and report.

For Android there is an app called "Torque" that does the same stuff. Will monitor nearly everything that a factory scan tool can. It will turn the CEL off and stuff too.
And it's nowhere near as expensive and doesn't take up
You can get away with using one of the $30 OBDII bluetooth "dongles" but the only issue I've seen some people have is they aren't compatible with all Droid phones, and some will drain the vehicles battery overnight if left plugged in.
The $100 one they recommend is a pretty safe bet though.
You can try the free app, or pay $5 for the paid one to donate for future updates and you get the dyno graph/ET functions.
What's really cool is that you can program your own PIDs into the phone if you know the OEM PID and it will monitor that and you can customize the high/low #s of the graphs.
Here's a link to another forum I frequent talking about Torque:

edit:
And NONE of these devices can replace a wideband O2 sensor! They will read off your normal O2 sensors(narrowband)... they jump up and down between 0 and 1v and the ECM takes the average voltage. A true wideband will read 0 to 5v so it has better resolution, and it doesn't switch between high and low... it stays steady based on the A/F ratio.
You could get something pretty close to it by using an O2 from newer Cadillac CTSs and stuff of that sort... they have lambda sensors(not O2 sensors) which read 0 to 1v... but they stay steady much like a WB O2 sensor.
