Default IAT Bias Issue?

Frustrating. The last time I tuned my VE it went much easier. Here are screen shots of 2 logs. Nothing in the tune changed. First is a log of a run to town to gas up the truck. Get to the gas station. Stop the log. Fill up. Take off and log the same route back. As you can see on the trip back averaged about 6% leaner than the trip up.

WTF? Bias issue? The gas?

Trip to station.

Return trip.

On a warm-restart, heat soak is a big issue for the stock IAT sensor in the radix.
I purchased a new thermistor for my IAT from Omega, just haven't had a chance to install it yet. Supposedley, it recovers significantly faster.

I remember reading about that IAT sensor once upon a time. So basically it is a heat soak issue and the bias? Looking at the logs the IAT was higher on the return trip.

It's not really the bias, just heat soak. Air coming into the engine is cooler than either the heat soaked IAT sensor or a biased measurement using IAT+ECT can measure, causing it to run lean.

Thanks for the input. Much appreciated. Care to share the IAT sensor part number. I've found a couple FJO and MSD but are threaded. Don't know if they are direct replacement for the Maggie.

Found a good write up on the omega sensor.

I'll try it but I am skeptical. Two things come to mind. 1> The sensor is encased in plastic. Plastic is a very good insulator. 2> This unit responds quicker but the time that I drove should have allowed for the sensor or charger cool down. It didn't.

I know the stock MAF sensore is slow acting, compared to a relocated one, there is no difference. The MAF one is very slow.

I just ordered the Omega sensor. I'll pick up the Camaro IAT sensor at a parts house and do the mod. I'm going to play with the bias table in the meantime and see where that gets me.
