Default hid ballast placement

I was just wondering where you guys are mounting your ballast. I need a spot for mine.

Mine are just sitting on top of the bumper light, underneath the headlights. No problems yet.

Mine are ziptied/velco'ed to the black plastic headlight support behind the grill shell.

I put mine in Zip-Loc bags (mostly zipped, of course) just under my headlight housings. Before they were in the bags, water was just going right into them during rainstorms. No problems after bagging them.

Granted its an OBS but I fabbed out a couple of pieces of diamond plate that are screwed to the back side of the core support right in front of the battery, one on each side. I used double sided tape and zip tied the ballasts to the smooth side of the diamond plate. There was no good place to put four ballasts and make it look neat so I went this route and it worked out good. Nice and sturdy, the wiring length is just about perfect, looks neat and clean.

I really like the zip lock bag idea!

Yea I haven't heard of that either. I did put diabetic grease on all the connections on mine but its just a habit more than it is a necessity.
