I have a 2006 LQ9 6.0L Crew Cab and I am going to buy a cam one of these days. Probably around the 218-220 duration on a 115lsa.

I think the stock idle is set around 550 RPMs.

Where are you setting your idling at with a "mild" cam, 650-750 RPMs?

I won't be adding a aftermarket convertor, I'll be keeping the stock one. This truck is also my daily driver.

 

You should be fine at that setting w/ that cam. I'm at 850 with my cam and I could actually go lower if I wanted but this works fine for me.

Edit: Actually its only 800, I forgot I lowered it a while ago.

 

mines at 680 and with ac on its at 715 rpm's....

 

with my TV2 im at 725

 

I know this does not help seeing I have the old school vortec350,but with my LPE cam I have it idling at 600RPM,took alittle playing to get it to idle that low but it idles great.

Rock steady 550 air or not here. Just a baby cam though.
