Default HELP Wiring issues???

Hey guys i bought a double din for my 2010 GMC Sierra and i am in the process of installing but ran into an issue i bought the factory plugin harness but when i started to organize the wires to start the soldering process i notices the red wire (ignition wire) on the harness isnt a part of the harness therefore i am guess i have to tap into an 12v ignition source i have never run into this issue with a harness! What do you recommend? Please help i want to put in my head unit the wire harness kit i bought is from impulse. Thanks for your help in advance!

If it's just a harness adapter you have to find a 12v switched ignition source in the convenience center under the dash. These trucks do not have ign power to the radio it is controlled by the BCM and databus system.

If you have onstar/bluetooth/bose/and steering wheel controls you will loose the capability to use these options if you do not purchase the correct CANBUS interface module for your truck.

If your truck does not have these options and or you will not miss them then you can use the harness adaptor and then find 12v to power the radio ignlead and you are GTG

Its got on star and the steering wheels controls but i dont really care for that just want to get the tunes working i bought the truck from my buddy and they broke into it at the marina and stoled the tv it had on it so im just dying to get some music been driving for a week now with now music lol... Also i just noticed when i was leaving my house that the light on the rear view mirror was on which is where the on star is and stuff is that normal? I do have the center bezel where the radio is off and its not plugged could that be the reason why those lights are on on the rear view? Thanks for your input

Ok guys so i woke up this morning and went to get in and battery was completely dead! I am wondering if it is due to disconnecting the plug from the rear view mirror? The worst part is the factory alarm started going off and i only have the remote to the current alarm it has now therefore, the horn didn't stop going so i had to run and unplug the battery until i found the fuse for the horn and i took it off let it charge for a while then hit the unlock button on the alarm and it then disarm the factory alarm.
