Gen IV knock sensors on Gen III?

I did this mod to someone elses truck, he thought you needed to use an impact on the knock sensors and stripped out the threads on both.

I put one right behind the PS Pump...did some scans with HPtuners, seems to be working fine.

idk where i can put the other one, the a/c is in the way on the other side.

Some screw them into the back of the heads.

I had to tweak the tune to get my LS1 sensors which are screwed into the sides of my LSX block to pick up anything.

I'm converting my TA to the LS2 style flat response knock sensors that bolt to the side of the block. The shop in san antonio that does my tuning said no problem getting them to work with the 02 pcm.
I'm having to do this because I'm building a Iron LS2 for it using a LY6 6.0 block. I'm building the motor now so it may be a couple months before it's running and can first hand confirm what they say its doable. We'll see

I used a gen3 block in my gen4 build. We drilled and tapped the webbing on each side of the block. Pass side was above the starter if I remember correctly, but anywhere should be fine in that area.

anybody get ls2 sensors to work on a gen 3 computer reliably? i'm in the middle of a l92 swap now and trying to decide which sensors to use on it.
