Default Gen IV knock sensors on Gen III?

my rear knock sensor went out a while back, so i disabled it. And just now the front knock sensor code came on. I really don't want both disabled, this is on a supercharged (2.3l Whipple) otherwise stock LQ4. Instead of spending 4 hours removing my Whipple can i bolt gen IV sensors on the block and buy a knock sensor relocation harness?

True, but the knock sensors can be installed in any M10x1.5 hole on side of block.

You can use stock 99-06 knock sensors, buy a new knock sensor harness and extend the wires. Easy easy easy

I think this would be the better way to go about it. Plug & play. Aren't the Gen 4 knock sensors 2 wire? With different resistance values?
