Default Gauge cluster problems

So I have an 02 rcsb that I bought about 2 months ago . The previous owner changed the faces on the cluster and wired in a switch to change the color of the cluster lights , now my problem is that the wires are connected to this switch that looks horrible and I'm trying to bring it back to stock but I can't figure out where the 6 wires came from originally the wires run into a big relay . My dimmer switch works and my needles light up just not the rest of the cluster .

I've checked schematics and I just physically find the where the original wires run from

You're gonna need to take the cluster apart and figure out what is screwed up inside. To get needles but no face lights means someone did something custom inside the cluster to block light transmission. Depending how jacked up it is you might want to just buy a cluster that hasn't been messed with. If you've got needle lights on your dimmer, then the original wiring is still present to the cluster (but someone may have done some exotic work inside).

Take the cluster out, pop off the black cover on the back, pry up the circuit board and look at the white frame that the face rests on. I am thinking it's been stuffed full of sticky stuff.

I have the cluster out and I pulled it open some rigged some stuff up but my second question is there's a tab that comes out of the cluster it's like a small wafer circuit board that runs to a very small plug but there's 3 or 4 different plugs that run in a relay that the other switch is spliced into I've checked all my schematics at my job I just can't find anything

Now I wired everything back to the switch that it was on and everything works perfect now I am buying a new cluster that's why I started messing with the wires I don't want anything rigged the way it is I want it oem

You're not going to find any schematics because it's a custom job. The only wires you will find in GM schematics are the ones going to the big plug on top of the cluster. Anything else is aftermarket. There are NO GM schematics for the internal cluster circuit configuration- you'd have to find a Delphi engineer willing to part with them.

I hear that with the engineers and I just wanted to make sure I wasn't pulling out any of the wires I need , so I ordered a new cluster and hopefully that fixes it all . I double checked all the wires into the cluster they haven't been touched so I think a new cluster will fix my problem and everything will work like it's supposed too . Thanks suburbanize I appreciate your help
