Default V8 cluster in V6 truck...

I've had an escalade cluster in my 01 for several years. The tach has never read right. The truck is stock, with stock tuning. What needs to be changed for the tach to read right??

Its been a while since I opened it up, but there is a "tach field" in HPT. You can adjust the pulses to correct the tach reading.

I seem to remember the same thing but it's been a good long while since I've messed with HPT. I really don't think tuning this truck is worth messing with but I would like if the tach read right...

I believe the Tach signal is different between V6 and V8 trucks. Hopefully you can do it with HPT otherwise you might need to flash the instrument cluster With the correct vehicle calibration.
