Flex Fuel Senosr on my 2001?
#1
Just bought me a 2001 silverado and would like to run e85, I might be late on this one but could't find a good thread talking about how to run e85.
My question is how to run the flex fuel sensor on the truck? I know there are e85 compatible files for my year truck but never hook up a flex fuel sensor.
I help a friend dialed hes car for e85 without the flex fuel sensor, car run great but had some trouble with it the car sometimes. Its running in open loop mode so i don't know that's why the car feels different sometimes. I would say it will run better been on closed loop let the o2's sensors read the mixture.

It runs different because E85 ranges from 60% (in bad batches) to 85% ethanol. Can't just dial in one number without running your own custom blend. Some people here have spliced in a flex sensor at the fuel rail and wired it up to the PCM on the correct pins with the correct OS.
