Default flashing service engine light!!!

that means random misfire right???

heres the background. i have a custom 93 octane tune from nelson for my stock cammed 5.3

i swapped the 5.3 for a 5.7 but im still on the same tune

specs on the 5.7 are truck intake, LQ9 injectors, LQ9 cam, LQ9 pushrods, 918 springs, ls1 heads, stock 5.3 everything else aside from boltons

i changed to delco irridium plugs and threw a random misfire code so i went back with the delco/ngk factory plugs thinking that would fix it.

now i can make the service engine light blink on command by holding 1st gear up around 3k rpm's for about 8 seconds. after it starts blinking i can drop it back to D and after about 15 seconds it will go away. theres never a noticeable miss to me. do yall think this is tune related or plug/wire/coil pack related.

remember the plugs, wires, and packs were what cam off of my 5.3 that had 0 problems

any thoughts?????

check the spark plug wires, sounds like you may have one cracked/ torn, under stress it's building up enough energy to shoot through the crack and ground out, throwing the code.

a flashing ses light means that there is a catylist damaging misfire occuring and you should not drive it unless you fix it. cats are around $600

they are very new wires...replaced at 45k miles brand new and only pulled 3x since then with the engine swap...the only time i get a missfire is holding itn in 1st. or idling for over 5 minutes. m probably wrong,,,i have a set of msd wires on the side i will try.

no converters and the codes are deleted.

so you aren't tuned for those injectors? that could easily cause a rich condition and foul up the spark plugs

Dude, i knew you couldnt keep your foot out of it. Did this come up after you pounded the gas? This may be a bigger problem. I dont want to be the bearer of mebadnews but this may an you leaned her out and cracked a ring landing or burned a valve. Get that code read...now! Then do a leakdown test.
