what about Shift Speeds? Is the higer the variable the quicker the shift speed?
For instance, they hypertech shifts feel pretty good

Stock the Shift speed on (D0910(WOT 1->2 Shift Speeds, Normal) is set to 25 Hypertech sets it to 30.

Hypertech also sets the FMC (D3802)+/(D3803)- -8.6275
I know the lower the FMC variable the firmer the shift. and Raise the BPT variable it firms up the shifts.

This stuff takes some thinking and figureing out... im gettin a headache tryin to find out what to do, what to change, and how much to change.

Is there a rule of thumb as to how much Timing i should adjust by? Say start by adding 2% at a time or 1 or 2 degrees to start with? Using 93 oct, should i advance the timing to start with?
Sorry for the many questions....
This is what I have done: Add a couple of degrees then create a KR map and log your Spark PIDS. Back off timing where necessary. If you are OK you can add a little more. The higher you go, the smaller the increments to be safe. The portion of the table that you are in during WOT is what I would focus on.

The Main VE table is used to predict airflow(and hence calculate fueling) without MAF input. e.g. when running MAFless(speed density).

See the description associated with table B0101

ok.. so i do not need to change anything in the VE table.
When taking out TM, how is that done?
On my stock trans, Say i want to take out 30-40%, what do i change?
I got your post about the different places to change it, but what do i set the variables to?

I found this table (B2004) [abuse mode torque reduction(desired torque reduction%)] Do i just calculate 30% from these numbers and enter that?

That table is already in % so if the value is 99% and you want to remove 30% then just subtract 30%. Then it will only apply 69% torque reduction at that RPM. If the value was 70% and you you want 30% less than that then change the value to 70 - (70 X .3)= 70 - 21= 49%

Thanks again DrX!
Mine look like this

0 - 0.000000
400- 0.000000
800- 0.000000
1200- 25.000000
1600- 50.000000
2000- 99.996948
2000 through 6800 = 99.996948

i reduced them by 40% so now its 15,30,60%s

What else do i need to change?
{B1209} Engine cal>ABuse manganment - It is in Seconds.. how much should i change them?
{B1902} Engine cal>Torque Limiting- Thats for Traction controlled vechicles? i dont have TC Do i need to adjust these?
Thanks for helping me understand this DrX!!

I think you can leave all the B12XX's alone unless you are totally disabling TM.
B1209 is just how long the PCM waits to shut down abuse mode after you stop driving abusively. You can probably ignore or disable the TC stuff if you don't have it.

Might want to go over this section if you have it in your cal:
