Evap & o2 monitoring check
#1
Did a 5.3 swap in my 95 GMc. Its a Calif. emissions swap, all components there. The scanner telling me the o2 & evap monitors are not ready yet. The manual mentions going through a certain process of driving and checking with scanner at the end. How many of these cycles or drive patterns do I need to do?

Still have been driving the truck, but it still has the same problem, evap &
o2 sensor monitoring systems haven't showed yes. Anyone know how long I need to drive the truck until they clear? Have driven at least 200 miles on the engine, still no change.

Engine swaps are tough in CA because they go by the year of the vehicle you did the swap from. I believe you're allowed 1 monitor not ready on 99-up.
Evap monitor only sets under certain conditions including outside temp and the gas tank being between 1/4 of the way and 3/4 of the way full when the engine is cold.
With a scan tool you can force the Evap monitor test to see if it will pass. As far as the 02's they should set fairly quickly.
You need to maintain a constant speed for a few miles. Usually 60 MPH. You can't be on/off with the gas pedal you need to cruise steady to set the monitor.
