engine died
#1
Hi all,
I have a 1998 Silverado which I replaced the fuel pump on about 12000 miles ago. I recently filled up with gas and 10 minutes later it shuddered slightly and died, engine will not fire. Fuel filter seemed fine but was replaced. Pump pushed fuel through the line when the filter was disconnected. The priming noise the pump makes sounds a little odd, hard to explain but not quite right. Not quite as consistant as normal. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas?
Thanks

I have seen quite a few of the connectors start to melt or burn and cause an intermittant concern, may be what you have!!!

Make sure there is no water in your tank. Did you go to a really old gas station? The reason I ask this is because many times the older stations have leaks in the underground tank and cause water to seep in, and this can end up in your gas tank. My buddy had this happed to a brand new 300c. Had to get a new HEMI put in.
