Default electric fan swap.staying on all the time....

hi i have a 2000 silverado i put in 05 escalade fans, got a nelson performace wiring kit for it and also got the pcm tuned by wait4meperformance to turn them on and off via pcm. but they stay on all the time on low and never have turned off unless i turn the truck off.. a/c on they go on hi. a/c off they stay on low..

my question is.
could it be a tuning problem?
im think it is but wanted to get some more input.
anyone have this happen to them?

Could be in the tune, could be a welded relay. Switch relays with known good ones.

ive switched relays. still same. ive checked pin 42 when truck on and its grounded out making fans turn on and stay on.. when truck turned off it goes 12v. i would think with pin 42 it would turn fans on with temp not at all times..

If you said in the first post that pin 42 was grounded always, my answer would have been different.

IF the PCM is grounded.. then its in the tune.. See if he can set the parameters higher.

Yep, as long as pin 42 is grounded, the fans will run.

On the older NBS trucks, the fans will run on low until the AC Fans Disable Speed is met.

If you set disable speed to 0 they will never come on.

I have the same issue with my '01 (https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...highlight=fans) and found the delay time works to keep them from coming on instantly once below the disable speed.
