Default EFI LIVE and VISTA

I neeed a new laptop. I have efi live. But my laptop died shortly after getting efi live. Will the new laptops get along good with vista home premium or should I get one with XP?

Thanks in advance.

Either will work. My EFILive ran fine with Vista for the two months or so that I allowed that POS to stay on my laptop.

From what I understand Vista is a HUGE memory hog....I'd stick with XP

FABOVISTA

we had a .NET framework problem (2.0) at work the other day. Bad problem. .NET was corrupt. We got the fix and blah blah, and at the very end of the discussion on microsoft's website it said, ..."if you are running VISTA or Server 2003 there is no known fix at this time for updating .NET with a corrupt file." WOW. XP Pro for the win.

Vista Ultimate sure as hell doesn't work with HP Tuners. I ruined the hard drive on my XP computer and bought this Vista one. Now I have my XP laptop for tuning, it has no extra programs on it so it is faster than it was. The Vista laptop, with all of its safeguards, is for surfing the net.
No help to an EFI user, but I like to bash Vista Ultimate at every opportunity.

Interesting!! I am thinking about getting HP Tuners, but first I need to get a laptop. I was wondering if HP Tuners would work on Vista and Allen (Nelson) told me it would. What is Vista Ultimate? The laptops I have looked at either have Vista Basic Or Vista Home Premium. Should I stay away from ALL Vista OS's? I need a laptop, but how do I get one with XP? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!!

So far my Shitsta laptop is working fine with HP. It't a Toshiba with 2048MB, and a 220GB hard drive, duel core prossesor.
