Default EFI live question..

I tried to do a search with no good results.

My question is that I'm looking to start tuning my self but I do not have a lap top computer, is one required or can I use my home based PC for viewing the logs and trying to tune my truck? I have read that with EFI live you can do this or is it best for me to start looking for a cheap used basic lap top?

Thanks

I would look for a lap top.....it'd be a hassle with only a home pc.

I got a decent IBM, P4 1.8 GHz laptop from ebay. Paid $375 shipped and it came with a nice carrying bag, wireless card, charger and a good battery. I rarely even use my desktop anymore. Now I can be truly lazy and sit on the couch searching the internet while watching TV.

That not being lazy, it's called "multitasking"

But a laptop does make it easier, and you don't need a very fast or expensive one for it to work well with EFILive. In a perfect world, they will some day get the standalone functions of the V2 working and then you wont really need a laptop as the hand held will be able to log, flash and read the PCM.

well I'm going to start checking e-bay for one and that multitasking and not being lazy thing does sound fun.
