Default Efi live problem cant read tune

Ok so i have the program on my computer and a v1. when i hook it up to my truck it reads the pcm info, so its connecting to the pcm. Now when i try to read the tune installed in the pcm it wont. It goes throught the process of initializing usb and obd lights flicker on the v1 and the truck dash says read in progress. Then the usb light quits flikering(obd still flickers) and thetruck dash says reduced engine power. And then nothing happens, i waited about 10-15 mins. and nothing. Retried it acouple of more times and same thing. Whats happening, i need help.
Thanks

Sounds like your tuner locked your tune. Who tuned it for you?

Reduced engine power?

Is the truck running when you try this? Who previously tuned your truck. Mail order tuners usually lock the tunes to keep them from being copied

I'm not sure then. I use HPT. Sounds like a locked tune to me, but you already covered that.

Today I downloaded the latest software from efi live and I was able to read 6% of the tune the it stopped. I bought the v1 from a member here and he said it works perfect and has a license left on it. I dont know where to go from here. I have asked on efi live and have dont what they say which so far was to download software but nothing.
Thanks

Have you posted on EFI live forum yet? They are usually really good with trouble shooting this stuff

Really sounds like electrical interference of some sort. You said you had an alarm, right? Anything that connects to the bus can cause issues. PAC iPod adapters are notorious offenders, for example.

I remeber that when they where installing the alarm they were talking something about the bus can, but even before the alarm it still would read.
