Not to mention yes its a little more expensive than HPT but it can do a lot more and doesnt require to spend a million credits to run a COS. The actual software itself isnt really any different, other than EFI tends to give you more tables and the values on the x and y axis are transposed. Everything HPT can do so can EFI and EFI has all the main controllers supported so youd be hard pressed to find something to tune that isnt supported by EFI. The support on EFIs site is great too. The only bad thing about EFI is that it isnt used by as many people but I believe in recent years that table has started to tilt in EFIs favor. Wheatley and Blackbear use EFI so they could help you tune via email with it.

fof works for HPT so dont let his biased opinion skew your decision.
Actually HPtuners has a few tables that EFI Live does not and vice versa like you mentioned...

HPTuners also has released a BETA with transient tables.

Not knocking on EFI by any means, it's a very capable and competitive (competition is good ) system but HPT's support system is just as good. I sent in a request for additional tables which was fulfilled by HPT support.

To each his own.

EFILive, been there done that with both, EFI has 10000 times better setup for overall useage and Custom operating systems. As far as the visuals look for the tables and graphs, EFI is like xbox360 and HPT is like nintendo 64 imo,
I think its the other way around personally HPT is more like a new 50in LCD and EFI is like that old 19" B&W I used to have in my basement.

I think efilive is layed out better and easier to use. And with EFI you dont have to email anyone to get a free download, go to efi's site, download the full software for free and try it yourself.
Just for you http://files.hptuners.com/support/msi/DemoSoftware.msi thats the full software for free so you can try it yourself

As for supported vehicles, HP may have support for different brands, but on the occasions that I was working with a controller efi didn't have a .cal for, I emailed the file out of the controller to ross and he hooked me up with a .cal to get me going. Great support and product.
As do we here are the defs we've done just since Jan 1, 2011

If you need a specific table added send me your .hpt file & your serial number and we'll add it to our queue

We support nearly 2000 operating systems as it sits so to give you a blanket quote is impossible.

I own EFI Live and am trying to learn to tune on my own and I am finding that there is much more beginner and tutorial info online for HP Tuners than for EFI Live. Master EFI Tuner is a manual that got great reviews and is based on HP Tuners. They are working on a copy for EFI Live, but that has been supposed to happen for awhile now. Most of the concepts are the same, but when the specific tables are listed for another software it makes it a little more complicated for beginners. Just my .02

Coming from somebody who has both I prefer HPT. Either will do just about whatever you need to get done with each package having minor upsides/downsides but the interface and licensing scheme wins out in the end for me with HPT. Anybody who says that one is 1000 times better than the other is obviously heavily biased.

huh? efilive never added the transient tables, we had them for the 99-04 operating systems for years then they added their def editor for those experienced tuners that know how to work in hex and knew all of the address information. EFI themselves never actually added the transient tables, they've left it up to their customers to do so and to keep up with and fix any of those tables they've found.

We added transient fueling tables to several of the 2005+ operating systems last year at the request of several of our customers including trever1t and have continually added new tables over the years at our customer requests many of which efilive still to this day does not have.
