Have you inspected the ecm connection? The pins are thin and prone to bending and not seating correctly.

I have not, truck is over ten years old and never moved anything there. But that doesnt mean it could have moved over time. Worth a check as well

Reviving this thread because issue is happening more often to where I cant even drive the truck. I tried to change the DTC to not alert and that did not band aid the issue. I called my local tuner and asked about if I got a new ECM if we would need to involve the dealership. He said yes if you get a brand new one but if you can find a used one you simply remove the vats, update vin, and anything else you changed on previous tune. With that being said I found the below vendor that can do all of it on a tested/proven ecm PnP basically. I am skeptical of buying one off ebay with no checks done on it. Anyone have any previous work with them?

Never heard of them personally

Not to side track but I wonder what the alldata method of diagnosing this code is?

Alldata is the web service you can purchase that helps diagnose some codes and has good information. There is another website I can't remember the name that does the same thing and shows other mechanic fixes

Update on this one, I bought a ECM from flashmasters the junkyards didnt have one. The plus side is they had them cheap, tested for functionality, and they have flashed ready for plug and play. Once I got it in and drove to make sure no DTC's came up. I licensed it with HPtuners and put my old tune changes back in like DoD disable.
