Default Driving with open manifolds

Hi, I am just finishing up an engine swap in an 01 pickup, however I don't have any of the exhaust other than the manifolds, so no provisions for the O2 sensors. Will it be ok to drive 10 miles to the exhaust shop? Or will it even start? Thanks.

I would avoid that, that will put the exhaust gases pretty close to the starter and trans cooler lines also. Not to mention it will be horrible sounding and loud as hell.

Hmm I don't have much choice, plus it's winter (below freezing temps) and it's all highway to the shop. Maybe I'll see what I can rig up to get it there. Thanks.

Well I guess if you have no choice then regardless of what anyone says to your question it doesn't really matter. Could you do it? Sure. Will anything adverse happen? Guess we will see.

I'd worry about possibly burning a valve. I wouldn't try it myself, I'd borrow or rent a trailer.

I drove my truck up the street after the 6.0 swap when i had it in. it was ******* loud! and after less than half a mile the floor was already VERY hot... i doubt it would make it without damage.
