Default Cylinder Charge Temperature for FI

Are you boosted guys disabling the charge temp table so the fueling calculations are only based on the IAT. Basically turning the IAT into an MAT sensor?

Kind of getting annoyed with lean starts and was wondering if disabling that table will hurt anything else in the tune. Thanks guys

I still use mine, I have modified my charge bias table but I still use it. It can be beneficial if it is setup correctly, however I think every setup will need it set a bit different.

Just for the hell of it, I changed the bias table to see how it would react. Blindly, I set the first value (low airflow) to 1.20 and then set the last value (high airflow) to .800. Then interpolated between the two. Started the truck and it was a lot leaner than before. So look like the more it is biased toward ECT, the leaner it gets. So next I just disabled the table, making the IAT the only sensor used, and it idled around .90 lambda until the STFT's kicked in.

WOT fueling is still the same with the charge temp table being disabled. So since my IAT is right before the tb, is there any downside to leaving the table disabled and retuning my idle and part throttle cells in the VE?

I still use mine. I had initially mounted my IAT in the intake as close to the runner as possible. I kept having problems with heat soak. I later learned that the IAT is blended with the ECT to determine the temp when the air is entering the cylinder. I have since decided to mount the IAT as far down stream as possible. I have mine mounted right after the intercooler(if I was NA I would mount it right after the filter). I think the fact that my intake is aluminum, and gets extremely hot that it was causing the problem. At lower RPM's the air is moving through the heated intake slower picking up much more heat than it would if the intake was composite. The solution for this was for me to blend more in favor of the ECT when the RPM's are lower.

Mine is bone stock. Occasionally i get a lean start but it is rare. I just hate tuning and i dont wanna mess with it.

I use the bias table. Keeps the fuel trims from wandering. It is useful.
