Isn't the DR44 regulated by the PCM. You should try to exchange the DR44 for a AD-244. My 97 Express had the factory upgrade 140A CS-144 and I upgraded it to a 200a AD-244.

I am in the process of swapping out a one wire CS130 to a one wire DR44. I had a new DR44 given to me that application fits a 2007 Tahoe. I will be installing on a 1993 K1500 Suburban. As of now the only wire used is the "L" terminal on the four terminal plug. I need to know what terminal on the new two wire plug to use. Can I do this?

not 100% sure but you could try just the "L" pin see if that works but if not here is the piece to convert it to 4 pin.
