Default DR44 Alternator on 99-04???

From my research, on 05 up the voltage on the alt was controlled by the PCM rather than an internal regulator like the prior unit AD244. Most of these units have 2 pin connectors.

I was searching ebay and have come across new take off 145 amp DR44 units with 4 pin connectors. Will these alts be compatible with the older NBS ?? My stock plug is the 4 pin connector.

I wouldn't buy an alt off ebay. How much are you looking to spend on an alternator an do you have a stereo system at all?
