Default Charging issue?

So I've been getting the good olé "check battery charging system" light every once in a while.
I'vechecked the battery and it tested good and also the alternator. I was able to check real quick and at the alternator post i have 14.7 volts and at the battery 13.4 volts is this normal? I know the alternator is supposed to be high at times to charge the battery and even then isn't the battery supposed to show the same voltage as the alt? Any input is much apreciated.

Thanks
Frank

Most likely corrosion has eaten away the fusible link between the alternator and the red box. You can get a new one from any auto parts store, or toss it completely in favor of a real battery cable.

you already did when you measured almost a 1.5v drop
"by the book" 0.1V drop per connection is acceptable
