Yes, except for the electric fan part unless you have a harness that plugs into the pcm to control them.

Y'know..it's kinda funny, but I haven't lived at home in 13 years and my mother STILL gets pissed when I spend money on stuff

If your friend knows what he is doing then let him do it...it's always better to tune on the dyno rather than relying on a mail-order tune

I agree with both of Yelo's points. Nelson is worth the money, but if you have an "inside line" to a dyno tune...man, that's the ticket. Given that your "friend" knows what he is doing.

i actually live at home during the summer and winter and i make my money detailing cars and we discussed that i would save half and spend half and i have made the money i planned now she is getting all pissed

Many people run with 100% TM removed. I typically will remove 70% initially and then depending on how that feels out on the road, adjust it up or down to user preference.

As far as timing goes, that is up to the dyno to tell the tuner (assuming it is a load dyno). That is the ONLY way to know the exact amount of timing that will make the most power at any particular load/rpm combination.

so i should start with like 75% tm removed? i remeber that someone said they had 80% removed then removed it all but could tell no difference,

also when tuning other than timing what do you change?

Not trying to be a jerk, and i am only 23 yrs. old. Which i hope doesnt make any of you just shurg me off, cause i have been wrenching for as long as i can rememeber and holley tuning for just as long, and unfortunately, and fortunately vehicles have come a long way. I have been tuning efi for over 10 years. including hondas (please do not stone me, the bowtie tatoo shows my true loyalty) I can tell you if you have no tuning experience you should probably find someone who does, and tell them what you want your truck to do. Now please understand i am not trying to deter you from learning, I just would hate to see you try to "learn" on your truck, and see you learn how much a new engine costs. It is so very easy to remove a rod from the block without taking it apart if you do not know what you are changing in your tune.... If you do not "need" a tune right now, and can wait a month or 2, then check here, and go log on the hp tuners forum, and start reading, you can not only learn alot about what needs to be changed, but you can learn from the others what they have tried and what works.

The best advice i believe you could get at this point. I know it may be cliche' but when it comes to tuning "knowledge truely is power" and to get mechanical power you need alot of knowledge.

sorry for the long post.

BTW i am new to this message board, just bought my first new truck....

My name is shannon, and hope to get to know you all..... till then buckle up...
