I've got a family friend that owns a speed shop that I purchased a HPP3 from and may be willing to take it back because I have no need for it. The only problem is that we know that I've used it once, but he told Hypertech it's new, hoping for maybe a refund. They told him to send it in and they can tell if it's ever been used and if not, I'll have $360 in my pocket.

So here is the deal, can I just take it out of the truck which will unlock the vin number and everything will be good to go, or can they tell beyond this? He wants me to be 100% sure before we return it so we don't make ourselves look like idiots, anyone have any info on this kind of stuff? Thanks in advance,

I'm only guessing here, but I'd bet they can tell.
