Default Blackbear tune now lost 4cylinder mode

Just got the tune and the crank relearn completed.....I now see the truck is not switching to 4 cylinder mode but getting 21+mpg at about 65 mph.

Not sure the truck is capable of 21mpg average with 8 cylinder mode. I don't feel it cutting into 4cyl mode either..

Is this typical with a BB tune? I don't want to loose the ability for 4 cyl mode....so I'm a bit perplexed.

This is a 2007 5.3 suburban.

What was it getting before?

I dont ever see a suburban goin in to 4cyl mode unless your goin slow or really flat terrain.

Did you tell him not to disable it?

My truck would go into 4 cylinder mode frequently. It would do it in 3rd or 4th gear. I hope I didn't tell him to disable it.

Today it would not go into 4 cylinder mode no matter how light I drove it. Waiting for a return email from Justin.

That's my point,,,wtf did he do? I'll keep driving it and see if it's calc'ing properly.....

I guess the engine is more efficient by not cycling the 4 cylinders on and off?

Anyone else reporting better mileage with the 4cyl mode off?

With the proper tune youll get better mpg with all 8 vs the 4 cyl mode.

Idk for sure but with as many guys that tell him to turn it off he might just do it unless he's told to leave it on. Personally I hate dod and glad its off. I never seen much of an advantage of it anyways.
